The Natural History Museum
2022, mixed media installation
This installation displays the insects that are ubiquitous in Korea but not in the Netherlands.
The work aims to translate the personal experience of moving out of one’s home country to foreign place into a natural history museum
setting. As like a transcripting, the insects were remade by hands and resized. In the work, the personal expereience and the formal language of museum, which is considered rational, is merged.
